THANK GOD FOR JERRY SPRINGER!!!
Looking at the title of this article, one might think I had lost my mind. And to be frank with you, if it were any one other than myself, I would be thinking the same thing. After all, given the events that happen on his show, only a lunatic would even think of tying God, in to this nonsense.

Sex, violence, perverts, freaks, illicit affairs, nudity, you name it, and it can be seen on his shows. At least, that is what I had heard. But, we all know that hearsay is nothing to make a judgment on.

So, just to see if all the hype I had heard about his shows was true, I looked at it one day. Starting at the beginning of the show, which featured women, who were involved with the same man, I counted at least eight fights, within the first twenty minutes of the show. Actually, the fighting started after the first woman was interviewed the first five minutes of the show, and then they brought in the other woman, who immediately assaulted the first one. Then they were separated, and the first woman, attacked the second. They were separated again, and the second woman broke free, and attacked the first, and so on. All of this to the absolute approval, and glee of the audience.

Sitting there watching this mess, I thought to myself, these people are mad!! They have lost it!!! For one, who in their right minds, would get on a nationally televised TV show, and advertise their stupidity like this. And mind you, I am talking about one of the tamer, less vile shows, that this man has put on the air. Some of his shows are so vile, that the producers, couldn't air them, so they put them on tape, for the public to order, and view in the privacy of their own homes. This, this show, if you want to call it that, is the number one rated show, among the talk show category. And it is made that way, by the people that watch it. The tapes, I understand, are selling like hot cakes.

What in the world is going on?? How did we get to this???? Have we suddenly lost our minds???

To answer that, I will take the last question first. No, we haven't suddenly lost our minds. We have slowly been losing our minds over the decades. How?? By placing a high value on violence, and all of this other nonsense. Violence in sports. And violence in the movies. Some of the top rated. shows in this nation, are steeped in the 'blood and guts" mentality, that is so pervasive in our society

We love to see the 'bad guy' get his.

At one time, movie and TV violence, was basically kept to a person getting killed, and there was no blood hardly shown anywhere. But, as time went on, the producers of our entertainment, began to slowly, program us in to accepting ever increasing exposure to more blood, more visible acts of violence, and more actual observation of bodies being blown up, ripped apart, squashed and more.

Sex, sells. At one time, the only thing people saw on the TV was a quick kiss by mom and dad, and maybe two lovers in a car, and that was about it. Now, you can nearly see the complete sex act, complete with the nudity that leaves very little to the imagination. The more sex and violence a show portrays, the more popular it is. Even the soaps, have started to do their thing. Illicit affairs, are the order of the day on them. They too, leave little to the imagination, so I've heard. People on my job, are always talking about what happened to this person, and that. You would think they were talking about real people.

In our sports, like boxing, men are made rich by trying to knock their opponents unconscious. Beating each other, until one can't take it any more. In a few cases, some of the losers, have died. Yet, we continue to pay big bucks to see them do it over and over. Then you have hockey, with its cross checking, high sticking, and punching, and bloodshed, that is so common, one person remarked, "I went to see a fight, and a hockey game broke out.' All of these things and more, to the complete approval of the fans. Basketball, baseball, and football, are not yet at that point, even though some of their stars, tend to get in to more trouble, than they should, both on and off the court. And let me remind you, many of them are roll models of our children.

Well, what has been happening, is that we have slowly been led down the path of accepting these things as normal. We have said this 'happens all the time, we just don't see it. So why not put it on the screen?' Now while that seems to be a logical thing, no one thought that it would actually come to that. Until now. Enter the talk shows.

Even though he wasn't the first, Phil Donahue, is to me, the 'father" if you will, of today's talk show format. Up until some time during his early years in the business, the guest would be interviewed by the host, at a table on stage and the audience, just sat and listened. They had no participation in the interviews, except to applaud or 'boo.'

Then one day, he decided to go in to the audience, and let them ask questions, and the modern day talk show format, began. And since the audiences now could participate, the race was on. More and more of these shows began to appear, and with it, the competition. And with it, the nature of the human mind is, the more controversial, the more popular it became.

Most of these shows, began to attack, what was up to then, our sense of morality and decency. After all, that is what brings in the big ratings. Things that were a taboo, are now being talked about in an open forum, for all the nation to see. The national audience, could call in and express their viewpoints. And this is where the producers began to really get the feel of what the audiences wanted. Anybody calling in with a moral view about a subject, more often than not, was booed by the audience, and made to seem like an idiot by the guest, and sometimes the host, while a person with no moral character, was given a sign of approval.

If a guest, was one that had high moral standards, they would be 'attacked' while a person with no sense of morality, would be 'embraced.'

This is what God meant when He said [Is 5:20 - 26 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Is 5:21        Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
        
Is 5:22        Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle
strong drink:
        
Is 5:23        Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
        
Is 5:24        Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Is 5:25        Therefore is the anger of the Lord kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
        
Is 5:26        And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them
from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly:

All of this, set the stage for people like Jerry Springer.

The handwriting is on the wall.

God, is using people like Springer, to show us, up close and personal, just what we have been asking for. Jerry Springer, is reaching deep down in to the pits of hell itself, and bringing up all of the filth that we have been planting and watering. It's like, when you plant a seed in a garden, you have to continue to water it, and nurture it, until it finally grows in to the thing you knew it was going to be. Well, this is what we have been planting and watering, and now that it has begun to come forth, we see its ugliness, and are trying to get rid of it. Because the ugliness we see, is us. Jerry is throwing all of our mess, in to our faces.

This is what is upsetting a lot of people. As long as we didn't have to face, what we were doing, then everything was all right. But, God, using Springer, is doing just that. And we don't like it.

And friend, there is more to come. We are getting our faces rubbed in it, good and old fashioned.

The reason for God allowing this, can best be explained by saying, He wants us to repent from our wickedness, and come to Him, before it is too late. It is in the plan of the devil, to destroy us, and he is the one that has been behind all of this mess, from the beginning, but, God is turning things around, to make good come from it.

If you read the story of Joseph, in the old testament book of Genesis, you will see how he was mistreated, by his own brothers, sold in to slavery, and then became second in command of Egypt.

When Joseph finally met up with his brothers, they thought he would kill them. But he said, [Ge 50:20] But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Suddenly, many of the same ones, that embraced this type of lunacy, are saying, Springer has gone too far. Especially, when kids, have been looking at this stuff, and then going out and imitating it.

A station here in Detroit, put the show on in the afternoons, so kids could see it, and parents, picketed the station, until they moved it back in the morning slot that they originally had it in. Many of these parents, probably sat in their homes and watched these shows, while their kids were at school, and enjoyed them. But, when the time slot changed, so their kids could see it, they hit the ceiling. What's the matter parents??? The kids were racing home, just to see Jerry.

While I was looking at this mess, I said to myself, 'they must be getting paid to act like that. Nobody could be that stupid.' Then comes the stories of how much of the things we saw, were staged. Kind of reminds me of professional wrestling, WWF and WCW style.

Well anyway, people got up in arms, and started saying, 'enough is enough.' Of course you still have those, that complain they have a right to watch this sleaze. Those people, need to get a life. No wonder our society is in the mess it is in. If all of this stuff is real, how long will it be, before someone gets injured or killed on the show. Jenny Jones, helped bring about the death of a man who was a guest on her show, at the hands of another man, who was also a guest. The show was entitled, 'people who have a secret crush on a person.' This one man, did not know that another man was the one that had the crush on him. And, on nationwide TV, it all came to light. A few days later, the man, shot and killed his admirer. Jenny denies all charges, that she set it up.

People, we better wake up. It is going to get worse, unless we stand up and tell the networks, 'get this trash off of the air. And I don't mean, put it on in the wee hours of the morning, I mean off, period. And all preachers, need to be at the forefront in this battle. We are talking about the 'works of the devil here.' These people are doing what they are doing, as pawns of Satan, and it is the job of the Church, to, 'set the captives free.'

Church, it is time to get busy. Remember the parable of the slothful servant, that laid around, thinking that his master, would be away for a long time? The master, showed up unexpectedly, and the servant was caught doing nothing. And you know what happened, [Mt 24:38] For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

Mt 24:39        And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mt 24:40        Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Mt 24:41        Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Mt 24:42        Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Mt 24:43        But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

Mt 24:44        Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Mt 24:45        Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

Mt 24:46        Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Mt 24:47        Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

Mt 24:48        But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
        
Mt 24:49        And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
        
Mt 24:50        The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

Mt 24:51        And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

This is a warning to all of us, that claim to be ministers of the gospel. We better be about the father's business, before it is too late.

Jerry Springer, is doing what he is doing, because the Church, isn't doing what it should be doing. When Jesus comes back, what will you be found doing???

God, is our only hope. Seeking fulfillment through any other means, than by Him, is fruitless. The reason Springer is so popular, is that he provides a jolt of excitement to sin sick world, that neither cares about God, or themselves.

The people in Noah's day, were just like us. Partying, drunkards, sexual perverts, murderers, law breakers and just plain ungodly. They were warned, but didn't listen. They say, 'history repeats itself.' They're right. Only, it's worse.
