And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

This passage of scripture, is one of my favorites, in the Old Testament, because, among other things, it presents a clear example of why today, we are going through all of the mess that we are.

To give you some background on it, the prophet Elisha, and his servant, find themselves surrounded by the army of a king, that is the enemy of the children of Israel.

For some time, this king had been trying to capture Israel, by planning 'sneak attacks', only to find out that they were waiting for him.

This king, thought that there must be a spy in his camp, that was giving information to the Israelites. However, one of his advisors informed him that it was not someone in his camp that was betraying him, but rather a prophet of God, in Israel's midst, that could see everything that the king was trying to do, even in his bedroom.

Now, let me stop right here.

One thing that everyone needs to know is, when an individual is anointed by God, to be in any position, God will provide that individual with whatever is needed for them to accomplish what they are called by Him to do.

In this case as a Prophet, he was the individual that Israel depended on, to give them direction on what God wanted them to do, and how to do it.

In short, in today's vernacular, Church and state, worked together, for the benefit of the state.

Anyway, this king put out a 'hit', so to speak on Elisha, to shut him up.

When he was located, living outside of the city, which was common for prophets back then so that they didn't have to deal with any of the distractions that living in the city brings.

Those distractions would tend to interfere with him hearing the voice of the Lord.

Back to the story!!

Anyway, when he was located, this king sent his army out to capture and kill him.

Well, it so happens that Elisha's servant spotted them when he went for his usual morning walk around the wall surrounding their camp.

His servant runs in to tell Elisha, what was happening, and Elisha goes out to see it for himself.

So, we have Elisha and his servant looking at the exact same situation. And, what was that??? There were 2 of them, and an army surrounding them.

Now, even though it doesn't say it, Elisha's servant was scared to death, while he, Elisha, was a cool as the proverbial cucumber.

The reason I say this, is because of what Elisha said to his servant in the subject verse number 16.

But then, Elisha says something that really seems strange. He prays to God, to open the eyes of his servant, so that he can see.

Hold it!!!

Open his eyes??? What is he talking about?? It is what he is looking at, that is causing him to be terrified!!!

Here we have a case of a problem being so big, that it can't be ignored. It is right there in front of your face, and, you either find a way to eliminate it, or, it will eliminate you.

That, my friend, is what we as individuals, families, groups, communities, and nations are facing, not tomorrow, but today!!!

Now, while Elisha, God's anointed sees the solution, his servant can only see the problem.

This is the classic example of what happens when the world[unbelievers] looks at a problem, versus when God's anointed looks at it.

Anyway, because he asked Him to, God opened his servant's eyes, and the servant still saw the army, but now, he sees that surrounding the army, was God's Army, vastly outnumbering this king's army.

So, the question must be asked, what eyes did God open??

The answer is, his spiritual eyes!!

When people question me as to why I seem to come up with what they call 'out of this world' answers, I respond by telling them that I have to see things from God's point of view.

Now, let me give you a point of reference here!!

This army of God's, didn't just show up, when trouble presented itself. It was already there.

If you are a child of God, you are surrounded by this same Army. For the Bible tells us, [Psa. 34:7-9]The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

Now consider this!!

One Angel, can wipe out an army by Himself.

So, you don't need and Army of them to help you. But, they are there.

However, if you will look at verse 18, of the subject passage, you will see something very interesting!!

18 And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

Even though the Army was there, they did not automatically attack this king's army. They instead, waited for Elisha to give the word as to what Elisha wanted them to do, then they did it!!!

Now, this really throws people, including most Christians for a loop!!

How can a mere human being, give direction to God's Angels and others of the Heavenly Host???

A mere human can't, but, God's anointed can!!!

The reason being, they are walking by faith, and not by sight!!

Remember earlier I said, that God provides whatever you need to accomplish the tasks He has anointed you to do??? Well, it is up to you, to use those tools, to get the job done.

Faith, is the tool that when used correctly, will direct the Angels and such, as to what you want them to do.

And, speaking something, is how you give evidence of that faith!!! Of course action, is another way.

If, Elisha hadn't said anything, but just looked at the situation, then, it is possible he would have been captured.

Now the whole point of this message, as it applies today is this!!

Just like Elisha was facing an army of a king that wanted his head, so too, do God's anointed face an overwhelming number of opposition, that would like nothing better than to get rid of them, because they don't like the idea that whatever they try to do, ends up failing, because they[God's anointed], gave the warning and they didn't listen.

As I said earlier, there is an elephant in the room, A failing economy, a rise in crime, mass shootings, terrorists are rising up, not only from without, but also from within. Enemy nations are threatening us from all sides. We are being plagued by all sorts of diseases. Our young people are being stricken and dying from diseases that are usually found in the elderly like heart attacks and strokes.

It almost seems like everything that can go wrong, is going wrong.

And what is our response???

We are just like Elisha's servant. We see the problem, and are running around looking for someone to come up with a solution, to fix it.

But, just like his servant, we fail to see the solution to the problem that is right there in overwhelming numbers, waiting for us to call on them.

But no!!

We want to do it another way. We want to do it without God's help, even though we make it appear that we want it.

The thing though is, we want Him to solve our problems, the way we want them solved, and not the way He will solve them.

You see, just like the scriptures tell us, the only way God will intervene in our affairs, is if we are willing to first, get in line with what He says we need to do.

But, we don't want to do that, because, in our minds, that is mixing 'God/Church and state. And, we can't have that!!

So, day in and day out, things continue to get worse and worse, as we continue to spend Trillions of dollars, on solutions that at best, appear to work long enough for us to get a momentary relief, then we plunge in to even deeper despair.

Do you know that God has a word about that as well??

[2Thess. 2:11-12] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

So, here we see that God will, because of our desire to find some other means to solve our problems, provide us with what we believe is evidence that our quest is right-on, so that we will go even deeper in to, what will turn out to be the ditch we are digging for ourselves.

It kind of makes me think about all these so-called fossils of dinosaurs, and other creatures, as well as relics, that scientists say prove that man evolved from the apes, which evolved from creatures in the sea, that evolved from microscopic organisms like the amoeba and the paramecium, are part of His plan to put us in a position, that will ensure that we will not be able to find our way out, even if we wanted to.

The elephant in the room, is showing us that time after time, year after year, every solution that we have come up with, without His assistance has failed. Yet, we still keep pushing for our scientists, sociologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, psychics and others to come up with better solutions.

Meanwhile, there are those of us, like Elisha, who, with our spiritual eyes, see the solution ready to completely annihilate all of our problems, if we will call on God, to do so.

You wonder why there are those of us that, despite the circumstances, can walk around in total peace of mind, and prosper, when everyone else has to get a drink, smoke some weed, get on drugs, or commit suicide.

You wonder why people are losing their minds, and going around killing people for no reason???

Talk about life imitating art, there was a movie that came out back in the 70's I believe called, 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World!!'

It was a comedy spoof of people losing their minds because things just started getting out of control.

Today, there is nothing funny about the world actually going mad!!

If you have been reading the messages that I have been putting out, over a period of time, you will find that they all, essentially have one thing in common, and that is to let you know, that without the Leadership of Jesus Christ in your life, there is no way for you to remain sane.

You might be mentally stronger than a lot of others, but, it is only a matter of time before you too, will lose it.

There is not one single problem that you are facing, or will face, that God can't deliver you from, period. All you have to do, is call on Him.

2Chron 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

But, as I said, we are busy running here and there, spending money to find some other source of relief, that can only give us at best, a temporary solution. Then, when it fails, things are worse than they were when we started out. That's the way God has it set up!!
