Scripture Hos. 4:6 December, 2010 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Subject - A Church Being Destroyed The subject this month, takes a hard look at the spiritual condition of the single most powerful entity in the world today, and that is the Church, the Body of Christ. Looking at the mission of the Church, as defined by Christ, we find this, Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. If you will notice, this is the 'Great Commission', that Christ charged the Church with, before He left. In order to fulfill this commission, He sent the Holy Spirit, to empower the Church to carry that commission out. One of the things He, the Spirit was going to do, was guide the Church in to 'All Truth.' John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. One of the things that is very evident, to any one that knows any thing about God, and His Word is this, 'the only way the Church can accomplish what is was commissioned to do, is to operate within the realm of the Truth, of God's Word.' Any thing outside of that Truth, will end up in failure, and disaster. As I always say, 'When you are looking for a solution to a problem that you are facing, if that solution does not include what Jesus Christ has to say about it, then, what you have is a disaster waiting to happen. [Prv. 14:12, 16:25]There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Well, if we look at the body of Christ, especially in the black community, we will see, that, for the most part, upwards of 80% of it, is operating outside of the area of Truth, and as such, is operating in ignorance, or as God says, 'a lack of knowledge.' The result is, it, and those that are a part of it, are being destroyed. Many will ask, what am I talking about, and why is it, I always seem to have only negative things to say about it?? Well, if you look at it from God's standpoint, He is not pleased with it, and therefore neither should any Christian. Our problem today is, the Church in the black community, most of them, have gotten way off the paths of righteousness, and opted to walk the paths of political correctness, compromise, and civil rights, all of which, seem to be the right way to go, but are spelling disaster, for those that go along with it. How so, you might ask?? Quoting the character of Claire Huxtable on the 'Cosby Show', who was a lawyer, 'Let the Record Show.' All things that have happened, and are happening, to us, are the result of our support of things, policies, and people, that go against what God says. One of the first things He says is that we, the Church, must not walk after, or embrace the things of the 'world', or the 'flesh.' Doing so, makes us enemies of God. Jas 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. We, instead, must walk after, and embrace the things of God, or the Spirit. Doing so, brings blessings down on us. Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Condemnation, means you have been found guilty of something, and you will be punished. In this instance, you are condemned for being an enemy of God. And as such, you have nothing good coming from Him. If we look at some of the solutions the Church in the black community supports, you will see they are all geared to satisfying the wants and desires of the flesh. To man, those that don't know God, the solutions that they come up with, are, they feel, what is necessary to improve their lives, and standard of living. The key phrase here is, those that don't know God. Enter most of the Church in the black community, and what you have, is they, rather than taking a stand against it, embrace it. So what you have essentially is rejection of God's Word, Truth, by the Church, for what amounts to 'the lies of the Devil.' And, if you think God is going to honor this type of foolishness, you are sadly mistaken. Things like abortion, gay rights, separation of Church and state, political correctness, affirmative action, removing prayer and the ten commandments from the public schools, compromise with other religions, and the like, are things that the ungodly come up with to, they believe, improve their lives. Remember the scriptures I quoted above, when I said, 'any solution to a problem you have, that does not consider what God has to say about it, is a disaster, waiting to happen.' Well, if you look at the fact that despite all of these so-called solutions, to the problems this nation, and especially the black community faces, things have not improved, but, have actually gotten worse. Nowhere in the bible, will you see God's people failing in anything they set out to do, as long as they stayed within the Truth of God's Word. It was only when they got outside of His direction, that they not only failed, but did so, miserably. Ask some Christians where they stand on things like abortion, and most of them will say, they support a woman's right to choose, while others will say, they want to get rid of it, except when it comes to saving the life of the mother. When it comes to gay rights, they will say they oppose it. Separation of church and state?? They oppose it. They think we need to realize we need God's input in to government. When it comes to affirmative action, just about all of them will say, it is necessary to 'level the playing field' so to speak for blacks. As far as environmentalism, and political correctness, they are split on them. My point here is this. If you ask most of these same people [Christians], what do they think we need to do, to get the black community back on track, to improve our condition in this nation, almost 99% of them will say we need to support politicians that are sensitive to 'black issues'. That is code for supporting the Democratic party. The thing is. If a Christian supports the Democratic party, then that means irregardless of what they say they oppose, they are actually supporting it, because the Democratic party supports it. So, most Christians in the black community, end up supporting abortion, gay rights, separation of church and state, and the rest. Now, while they may not see it like that, God does. And, as a result, they have to be punished for their stance. Of course, the first thing God will usually do, as He did in old testament times, is send someone to the people, to warn them of the folly they are engaged in, to give them a chance to repent. If they take heed to the warning, then, they will avert tragedy. On the other hand, if they reject the warning, then, God will set them up for destruction. The job of the church, is to be that messenger, that Christ has sent, to warn the wicked, [the ones that aren't saved], that they need to repent, and get saved, by accepting Christ as Lord of their lives. However, that is not the message that the Church is sending. The message the Church is sending is, 'You are ok, God understands. God loves you. Nobody's perfect. We can all get along. Let's not judge. All faiths are good in God's eyes. Let's celebrate in the midst of our ungodliness. Let's find common ground, and work on it, and not dwell on the negatives [sin]. What does God have to say about this?? This passage of scripture, says it all. Eze 3:17 Son of man[preacher], I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel[the Church]: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. Eze 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Eze 3:19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Eze 3:20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. This essentially says it all. The Church, is not warning the people of their evil ways, and not only that, but is actually participating in them, and is guilty of all the souls that are now in hell, because they were led to believe, by these churches, that they were alright with God, just the way they were. And as a result, the Church is being destroyed, because it is totally useless, and good for nothing. That also means, those connected to it [the members], can either repent, or face the consequences. In these times, the Church should be a beacon of hope, a light in the midst of darkness. Instead it is anything but. It is a deceiver, and an aid to the enemy. If you will notice the last part of the 'great commission', you will see the signs Christ said would accompany the Church, to demonstrate God was with them. You don't see those signs in most Churches today, do you?? Why?? Because God has stripped them of their power, if they even had it, because,just like unplugging an appliance from an electrical outlet, it, the appliance ceases to do what it was designed to do. The Church has two options. Either get reconnected to the power source, and do what you were designed to do, or, continue the way you are, and face the ultimate destruction, of damnation.
