The message for this month, concerns the spiritual condition of every single individual, family, group, city, state, and nation on the face of this place that we call earth.

Let's look at our current situation in this nation, shall we??

Right now, the United States of America, formerly known as the beacon of hope, freedom, and prosperity, to the rest of the world, has been reduced, in the eyes of most of those people, as a nation of fools and hypocrites, that can't seem to get its own act together, let alone, trying to tell other nations what they need to do.

A lot of people that want to come to this nation, are not coming here to achieve the American Dream, but rather to dismantle, and destroy it.

There was a time when an American, could travel almost anywhere in the world, and people would respect and admire them. Now, this nation has to advise them to be aware of where they are traveling to, because they may be in danger.

Lately, our citizens have been killed, kidnapped and held for ransom, and there seems to be nothing we can do to stop them.

This nation used to be a leader in the space race, with other nations coming to us, to help them gain access to the International Space Station, to be a part of our endeavors to gain a foot-hold in our knowledge of the Great Beyond.

Now, it is us that need to get the assistance of a nation, that, quite frankly, we have a less than amicable relationship with, to get up there.

Our economy, is in shambles.

We have gone from being the major producer of goods to the world, to being the major purchaser, of those same goods.

Products that used to boast, Made in America, have been replaced with Made in China, India, or if they are made in America, the majority of the parts, come from those countries.

There was a time when the moral fabric of this nation, was envied throughout the world. Today, there is very little of that being the case.

I could go on and on, with example after example, but, I am sure you get the picture.

The question must be asked, 'how did we get like this?'

Well, most of us know the story of the 'Fall' of mankind, in the Garden of Eden, so I won't go in to that part of our past.

My focus is on this present day, and all the problems we are facing.

It would appear with all of the problems that we are facing, to which we don't seem to have any answers, people would turn to God for the solution.

However, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Despite the plethora, in this nation, of churches, and preachers, broadcasting on TV, and radio, and sending out messages on social media, preaching in the churches, and on the streets witnessing to the lost, there seems to be a disconnect between them as to the reality and Truth of God's Word.

It is this disconnect, that is at the heart of our problems, and the reason for it, and this message.

It all stems from the age old condition of 'unbelief!!'

Unbelief!!! What is it?? And, how does it figure in to our situation today??

Since we are talking about spiritual conditions, then I will address it from the standpoint of our relationship with God.

Unbelief, is a condition that a person may be in, where they refuse to accept certain things as being real, or relevant to any given situation.

Many would try to say that unbelief, is the same thing as having a lack of faith, when it comes to God, but, there is a difference.

People can believe something, but not put their faith in it.

A good example is, in the case of individuals like Mohammad, Sun Yung Moon, L. Ron Hubbard, and others. Or religions like Islam, Buddhism, Scientology. A person can believe that these people or religions exist, without putting their faith in them.

Well, in the case of God, the unbelief comes from the idea that He does not exist!

Now, why would they think like this??

Because, in their minds, if He did exist, then He would be doing things that would meet their criteria of proving that He does.

In short, He has to fulfill, what their image of Him is, before they will accept the fact that He does exist.

I can remember in my young and foolish days, when someone tried to tell me about Him, I would say something like, 'Oh yeah?? Well, if He is real, then let Him show me by doing something like sending lightening down and striking that tree over there!!'

Well, here I am, almost 60 years later, and I am hearing the same sorts of idiotic answers that I proclaimed back then.

People want God to do something to prove Himself to them first, before they will believe in Him.

What they want, is some sort of sign, that usually fits in to their way of thinking, as to what He is really like.

If He doesn't do it the way they want Him to, then He is a myth.

Now, the subject verse tells us something very interesting.

First, it is directed to a certain group of people, who, by their very nature, have their own idea as to how God should be. And as such, if He doesn't fit in to that preconceived mold, then, to hell with Him.

This is different from those that have the mindset of the man in [Mark 9:24], Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

You see, this man was sincere in wanting to believe in what Jesus Christ could do, but there was some doubt there, that needed to be addressed.

Contrast that, with someone who is trying to find everything in the world, not to want to accept the Truth, especially if doesn't fit in to their vision of what God is supposed to be.

Not to discount all the wonderful things that medical science, through research, has brought us to fight all the diseases that plague, or are still plaguing us today, but, some of them serve, not only to save lives, but to allow individuals the opportunity to continue the same activities that brought about those diseases in the first place.

Thanks to the drugs that combat STD's and AIDS, people can continue to have reckless, unprotected sex, and have no fear of serious complications, or spreading the diseases.

Thanks to medical science, people that smoke, have a better chance of living longer because of the advanced treatments that are available today.

From what I have seen, most of these people, instead of curbing their behavior, and stopping that activity that caused the problem in the first place, continue in it, many times at an accelerated rate, now that there is a cure available to help them.

What the subject scripture is addressing, is people like this that want to see a specials sign, that proves God is real, before they will stop their wicked behavior, and acknowledge Him.

Jesus responds that for them, there will not be any special signs from God, for them to recognize, so that they will know what to do.

Jesus goes on to say that the only sign that will be given, is that of the story of Jonah, which is a revelation of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Both of them spent 3 days, and 3 nights, in the realm of total isolation from the living world. Jonah in the belly of the great fish, and Jesus, in death.

To the Christian, if you know anything about their confession, that brings them in to the family of God, they acknowledge this experience of Christ, as the major portion of their belief.

What Christ did at that time, is all that He is going to do, to prove Himself to anyone, when it comes to salvation.

What these people want, is to be able to live like hell up until the point that Christ gives them a sign that He is getting ready to come back, tomorrow, next week or whenever, so that they will know they can continue doing what they are doing, up until just before the time comes, then turn around and get right.

What they fail to realize, is something Christ warned us about, while He was here.

Matthew 24:36, 42-43, 50, tells us that, that time will come, as a thief comes in the night. Jesus even says only the Father knows when that time will be.

He even gives the example of, if the man of the house, knew what time the thief would come to break in, he would be prepared for him.

Other scriptures give us that same warning, so that we won't be caught unawares. This means, we should be prepared for His coming, as if He would be here in the next minute, let alone days, weeks, or years from now.

It is the nature of man, to put off until tomorrow, what should be done today.

It is also our nature, to have all the fun we want, for as long as we want, and ignore anything that tends to take that away from us.

That is why, when it comes to things like smoking, drinking, drugs, and illicit sex, despite the dangers, and the warnings, some people will continue to indulge in them anyway, even to the point of death.

They want to, as it were, 'push the envelope as far as they can, for as long as they can', and God/Jesus ain't buying it!!

There is an old says that says, 'It's His Way, or the highway!!' Or, 'It's Holiness, or hell!!'

When someone tries to figure out how to 'get over' on God, or 'play Him', they are essentially saying that He is a fool!!

When they try to twist His Words, to make it look like He is saying one thing, when He is saying another, they are playing with fire!!

When someone tries to make it appear that somehow, He needs us so much, that He will do anything we want Him to do, to prove His Love for us, maybe they should take a look at what Jesus said when the religious leaders tried touting their heritage, as to why God should be on their side.

[Mat. 3:9]And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

God does not need us!!! We need Him!!!

All these games that people are playing, only serve to dig the ditches they are in, deeper!!

That is why this nation has deteriorated to the condition that I started out describing at the beginning of this message.

As long as you want to act a fool with God, then, you are going to get a fool's reward!!!

The only thing that God owes you, is the chance to redeem yourselves from the judgment to come.

As Jesus described in another passage of scripture, talking about the signs of the times,He asked about how men can look at the sky, and tell what type of weather is coming, but yet, they can't discern the signs that are literally exploding in front of you every day[Mat. 16:3, Luke 12:56].

Because most of you can't, that is why He has people like myself here to sound the alarm that your time is running out.

We are here to continually sound the alarm, to get you, your family, friends and such, to take heed before it is everlastingly too late!!

You know, just like in the bars, when it comes close to closing time, they will give you a warning to hurry up and purchase that last drink before the bar closes. It is called, 'last call for alcohol!!'

Well in this instance, this may be your 'last/final call', before you slip in to eternity!!

Do you know what that means???

That means, despite how good of a person you might be, in the eyes of man, you will end up in Hell, my friend. And no preacher can help you then!!
