SCRIPTURE – JAS 4:8                                                                                                                                                                        OCTOBER, 2020

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

SUBJECT – THE CALL TO RIGHTEOUSNESS!!
The message for this month, has to do with what the gospel, the Bible, the preaching, the witnessing, and everything else associated with Christianity is all about. And that is to draw all of mankind back to the relationship he had with God before 'the fall!!'

In case you don't know what 'the fall' is, it is when Adam chose to go against what God told him not to do. It was because of this one act of disobedience, that all creation is in the condition it is in!!!

God had warned him that in the day that he ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he, man, would surely die! Well, when he did it, the consequences of that action, in the sense of a marriage, was the equivalent of a divorce.

We all know what happens in a divorce don't we??

Before there can be a divorce, there has to be a marriage. A marriage is where two individuals, a male and the other, a female, have come together to become one. Everything they do, is as a single unit.

A divorce comes about when the two, or even one of them, decides they want to go their own way, without regard for what the other wants to do.

If you can understand that then, you can understand this message more clearer.

You see, when Adam was created, He was made in the image of God. That also included the woman. As a result of this, they were, for all intents and purposes, a family. You had God, the Creator, married to man.

God, being the Head of the family, set the rules, by which the Family would operate, and all that man had to do was go along with them. I know that this doesn't sit well with today's modern liberated women, when talking about a 'head' of the family, however, that is how God designed it, and He did so for a very simple reason.

You can't have 2 different people in charge of anything, because, that can, and often does lead to confusion. One person has to be capable of making a final decision. And, that person then bears the 'full responsibility' for what happens because of that decision.

If the other person chooses not to go along with that decision, then, they have effectively broken the bond/unity between themselves.

Another thing that should be mentioned is, when you look at the way God designed things, even though Eve, was the first one to go against what God said, God put the blame on Adam. That is because it was Adam, that was created first, and it was on him, that the future of all mankind rested.

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as BY ONE MAN sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

The interesting thing in this whole situation is, God holds the man responsible for all things that pertain to what happens in this life, both good and bad. The woman, being created to be his helper/helpmete, gets a pass when it comes to what happens in the world.

If we look at all the wars, the broken families, the suffering, the crime, and the other things that cause human misery, it all boils down to decisions that are made by the man!!

I have heard women complaining about how the major cause of humanity's problem, is because of men. So, to their credit, they are speaking the truth.

However, where they are making their biggest mistake, is when they start trying to transition in to becoming, what God says is a man's role.

It is one thing, when the woman is put in the position of having to be the 'head' of the house, when the man is either incapable, or absent from fulfilling the role he was meant to be in, and another when because she has had to take on that role, that she desires to maintain that role, if she gets involved with another man.

Men and women are designed for different roles in the family structure. And, when those roles are followed, there will be peace, harmony and prosperity, whether the people are saved, or not.

However, when there is a departure from that design, then chaos is sure to follow.

As I mentioned earlier about Eve having broken the rule first, the curse on mankind came when Adam, listened to her, over what God had said.

If we look at the relationship between a mechanic, and his/her helper, if they are repairing a car or some other piece of machinery, and something goes wrong with it, the blame is going to be placed on the mechanic, and not the helper.

Another thing is, because they each have appointed roles, God gives them different characteristics, so that only they can fulfill the roles for which they were designed.

The obvious characteristic on the physical level is, the woman is designed to give birth to the offspring. Her body is designed exclusively for that purpose.

On the other hand, the body of the man is designed to be able to impregnate the woman, so that a child can be brought forth.

Without going in to too much detail, you can see it is impossible for either one of these two to reverse the roles they were designed for. If that were possible, then the whole of creation would be in chaos.

And, in some aspects, that is part of what is wrong with us today. We have women wanting to not only act like men, they are going to doctors, and having themselves being transformed in to men, and vice-versa.

What this action does among other things, is to tell God, that they are not satisfied with how He made them, so they are going to bypass what He did, and improve on it.

Of course you should know, God isn't having it!!!

This is only one of the thousands of acts of disobedience that man has perpetrated against God. And it is because of this disobedience that everything is as it is today.

Even when it comes to trying to find solutions for these problems, instead of turning to God, we decide to come up with the solutions ourselves.

What we are doing, shows a complete disregard for God, and anything He says, which as I mentioned earlier, is what happens in a divorce.

As long as we stay in this position, nothing is going to change for the better. However, things will change for the worse.

Since He is in control of everything, God will make sure of that!

The only logical solution, is to get back to God. That means we have to admit that we have been disobedient, and that we are sorry, and ask His forgiveness. Upon doing that, we will be reconciled back to Him. This is something that every individual has to do themselves. I can't do it for you, and you can't do it for me.

This is the primary message that the Church is supposed to be delivering to the people!!

Every individual is responsible for their own spiritual condition. You can't go to someone other than Christ, and ask them to speak to God for you, in resolving your disobedience to God.

As Jesus put it, John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Going to preachers, or praying to saints, and such, WILL NOT GET IT!!! You have to go to Christ yourself!!

It is unfortunate that there are many in the Christian community that give the impression that this is possible,when getting back in to the good graces of God, after one's disobedience.

The only times someone else can intercede to God on your behalf is when it comes to healing or deliverance!! The reason they can do that is because it does not concern your spiritual condition, but your physical condition.

If this were not the case, then family, friends, neighbors and others could, as some would believe, pray them in to Heaven, even though they have no regard for God.

Righteousness is something that has to be earned. And it can only be earned by the individual that is seeking it.

Notice, I said the person has to be seeking it.

That means you have to actually be searching for the answers in the Word of God, the Bible.

Now people can direct you to certain passages of scripture to get you started, but, in the long run, you have to take enough interest in it to begin searching for yourself.

As you begin to search the scriptures in earnest, this is tantamount to your moving closer to God. And, as the subject scripture tells us, God will begin moving closer to you!!

He will begin to show you things that you would not ordinarily see. This is because He discerns your heart and mind, and is willing to open up the revelation of the scriptures to you.

You know, the main reason for the ungodly remaining in the position that they are in is because they can't see what the big deal is about what they are doing. To them, it is about having fun, and living life to the fullest, while they are here. They don't worry about what comes after they die, because to them, there is nothing, so there is nothing for them to be preparing for. Once you are dead, that's it, they think.

And, the main reason they are in this position is preachers that themselves, can't see the reality of the scriptures, because, if they did, they would not be saying and doing most of the things that they are doing.

If a person really believes what the Bible says about what is waiting for those that live lives of rebellion against God, and read about what happened to those in the Bible that did so then, no sane person would go out and engage in those activities.

That then means, either they are insane, or blind to the Truth. In either case, you need to get as far away from them as possible. However, unless God has opened your eyes to this reality, you will be right along there with them.

Listen, God goes out of His way to give us all sorts of evidence in this physical realm, as to the reality of His Word. It is right there in plain sight. However, if you are blind to it, then you could be standing right in the midst of it, and it might as well be a million miles away, because you can't see it.

Here is one example for you, before I close.

What is happening in this nation today with the pandemic, the riots, the protests, the killings, the racial unrest, and other things that are tearing this nation apart, are mirror images of the nations in the Bible, that dared to go against what God said. And yet, a lot of preachers, especially in the black community, act like these problems are the result of bad leadership of the nation by our president, when in reality, it is because of their own ignorance.

God has His hand stretched out to every single individual in this nation, and the world for that matter, saying Come to Me!!! All you have to do is quit being so stubborn, and reach out your hand to His, and He will show you the reality of His Word!!

The choice is up to you!!

Another reality is, time is running out for you, and, this nation. What's it going to be??? It's all up to you!!
